Summer may be three months away, but if you want a job, you better get started now, according to a survey by Snagajob, the hourly job search engine.
The nationwide online survey of 1,073 hiring managers showed 13% filled their summer slots in February and 11% finished up in March. April will see another 23% complete their summer hiring.
By the end of May, 79% of all summer positions are expected to be filled, according to the survey.
Chris Strom, director of business services for the employment One-Stop Center in Buena Park, says that seems a little early for summer hiring here, based on the job fairs she’s been organizing.
Nonetheless, it’s a good reminder that it’s never too early to start asking about summer jobs. Continue reading »
